Fitrah Priestess Jamillah Amir conducted the first of a series of classes at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in Smyrna, Delaware September 13, 2025. Jamillah, who is the editor and publisher of several books by Amir Fatir, launched the first in a series entitled THE TRANSFORMATIONAL POWER OF HET-HERU/THE INNER GODDESS before an all-male audience who were enthralled by her insights into the ancient Kemitic Fitrah wisdom. The audience of mostly Alpha males were surprisingly receptive to Jamillah's suggestion that they learn to balance their masculinity with the inner femininity that few heterosexual men in prison feel secure in evoking. The feminine Het-Heru force, she explained, is both developed and expressed through practices such as visualization.
The prison chapel sound engineer, Jerome Oyaide Franks, blasted Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" when Jamillah took the podium. That song just happened to be Jamillah's personal theme song, so things kicked off with the right vibe. Before the class began she got a Metu Neter reading to divine Tehuti's thoughts on her class, the very first of its kind in Delaware. The reading was Amen tem tchaas and Seker tu Tchaas which indicated the the focus of the class should be on transforming (Seker) conditionings (Amen tem) in order to unleash jer students' spiritual power (Seker). She began with a discussion of menopause, which is a Sekert topic dealing with feminine energy in aging women. Armed with the information and direction from Tehuti/Orunmila Himself, Jamillah immediately explained that the forces called orishas and neteru are accessible inside of ourselves.
When asked about street violence, Jamillah shared her own heart-wrenching experience in which, via mother's instinct, she sensed danger surrounding her teenaged son Aquil. She then asked Amir to do a reading and Amir consulted the I Ching oracle which indicated that Aquil's life was in grave danger an that he should leave his father's house in Boston and relocate with his mother in Texas. Unfortunately, neither father nor son adhered to the warning and poor Aquil was shot and killed. Part of Jamillah's mission is to divert young men from destructive life paths and save mothers from the horror and anguish of prematurely losing a beloved daughter or son.
