Amir Fatir, Hemit-Ur of the Fitrah Temple of Ra, officiated the September 7, 2025 nuptials of Johnny Burns and Dionne Wade. The wedding took place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was attended and celebrated by a large number of the couples' family and friends.
Although Amir officiated electronically Sister Dionne was overjoyed. "Everything was just perfect. We couldn't imagine being married by anyone except Amir," the new bride later said.
Dionne has studied Fitrah for a decade while Johnny, a practitioner of Kemitic spirituality, is new to Fitrah but is now an avid reader of Amir's writings.
The wedding ceremony embraced Quranic, Kemitic, Cherokee, Biblical and ancient Sumerian wisdom concepts including The African-American custom of jumping the broom.
